Just wanted to say the article you have on the site is spot on. I never knew, nor did my wife, the real deal about this. It is spot on and the diary is very useful also.Keep it up.

Personally I am disappointed about the apparent anti-breastfeeding perspective that these take.

Undoubtedly, breastfeeding can be hard, but both the diary and the 'information' about breastfeeding seem to overemphasize the negative and make no attempt to present a balanced viewpoint.

Shame.

Rob, I don't think this was negative. Women get bombarded with the pressure to breast feed, and are only ever given the pro's about it and the con's of bottle feeding.

Every couple I know has attempted to breast feed.

All of them have had initial problems and for most, once they learn how to, it's a fantastic and wonderful (not to mention cheap) way to feed your baby for the first 6 months (or even more).

Those couples that have had to give up on breast feeding have gone though a hell that no one prepared them for.

Something I would add to the article through is ways you can get support in breast feeding.

There is a National Breastfeeding Helpline on 0844 2090920. These put you in contact with a Breastfeeding counsellor. A mum who's had 2 years training specifically on the subject.

Now I'm writing this while waiting for my first born, we do intend to breast feed (well she does if it tries me there's gonna be a whole world of dissapointment )
but I am prepared for sometimes it doesn't work, and that won't make her or me a bad parent.

Hi the breast feeding diary is not negative, but actually a real diary.

It gives people an insite into what it may actually be like with the first baby.

This site is so that dads out there get a fair and balnced view on what is going on and the whole first part of the article was about the benefits of breast feeding.

but at no point is it meant to be negative about breast feeding.

I do feel that people should not be ostarsised by the breast feeding lobby though, so we try to give both sides of the story, instead of just how great it is to breast feed.

This site is for dads rather than mums and hopefully gives them a heads up on what they may encounter in a worse case. As it will be dad that will be supporting mum.
