Hi,

My son is now three weeks old, I have not had a decent nights sleep since we got him home. He wakes twice a night and my wife gets up to feed him.

Are there any ideas on how I can get a decent night sleep, or how to start to get him to sleep through??

any advice would be greatley apreciated

Hi,

I found getting my daughter into a routine as quickly as possible was the key, with a feed at 11.00 she would sleep through to 4.00 and then back to sleep until 7.00.

I also found the spare room was a god send I used to use it when I found the sleep depravation was getting to much.

Golden rule is there is no point you both being knackered at the same time. Therefore if one of you is up the other should try and get some kip. Era plugs are awsome-seriously!Make sure she uses them to.

have started using those yellow ear pluggs you get free when you are flying long haul.

They are great!

You are right there is no point in us both having to get up, and i can t help anyway as she is breast feeding
so lucky me i get to sleep

if only I could get away with that, as we are bottle feeding,I have to take it in turns 1 night on 1 night off.

on the night off I use the spare room otherwise I would be awake anyway.

This works for us.
