Hi guys this is my first post on here and I am also a new dad from 3 days ago to a perfect little boy we named oliver, anyway the subject of the grobag egg.
Well we did get the egg and its a lovely device and it is accurate as we also have the bt 150 monitor with a temperature display amongst many other functions which take a bit to get used to but a great device, also checked the room temperature with another thermometer and it is correct but it is a bit worrying when I keep checking it and its either red or orange which is meant to be too warm/hot but the room seems fine to me not too hot or warm so very confusing and frustrating. When we had the hot week at the beginning of april the display did not go any lower than 26/27 and it stayed red even at night so that gets you quite worried for when we start using the room, we also opened the windows for a while during the day and had the door open which didn't make a difference so not sure what to do really.
We are thinking of getting a fan to cool the room down but like one of the other guys said will it make it too cold ?, we do have blackout blinds which we did close aswell but that made no difference so as I said earlier very confusing and frustrating for when the little one goes in there.
So I can say that it is accurate but maybe a bit of a worry.
Roger.

Hi,
I dont think there is much you can do about the weather, Babys are quite hardy, We just use a small desk fan to move the air around in our little ones room.

We have the grobag egg and have had absolutley no problems with it. Great idea and it doubles as a handy night light, when you are fumbling round in the middle of the night.
As for keeping the room cool, we have not really had that problem yet as we had our son during the winter.

Well Skippy,
I think we can truley say that the jury is out on the grobag egg.
my advice would still be to get a baby monitor with a thermometer built in and kill two birds with one stone. most of them also come with a night light built in.
As for keeping the room cool, you can only do your best. but be sencible, if you have just got a sheet on at night, dont have a thick blanket on your baby.

Dan the man makes some goo dpoints in reply to skippy.Your best tool skippy is common sense. Regarding the fan we found if we just had the door open and directed the fan onto that or the wall enough cold air would circulate into the little ones room.
Panic not skippy. If they are cold they will cry be in no doubt about that. If it is boiling hot make sure they have enough fluid and air circulating around the room. They can also just sleep in nappies but make sure the night temp doesn't fall too much.
Re black out blinds they are a good idea and many now come with suction pads so you can take them with you when you travel. Jason has a good point though about the kids getting used to them. As you can see we all have different views but you will be fine skippy. Daunting at first but pleasantly life changing. ( Now where did i put that dam vodka!!)
