Review:

Straight out of the box you can see that this is designed to be used by kids, a bright colorful console that is made of strong robust hard plastic and a big chunky joystick controller with huge buttons. The console comes with everything you need to connect it to your TV and a Thomas the Tank Engine game to get you started as soon as the console is connected.

The games available for the Vtech V.Smile are cartridge based and as you would expect are big and chunky and easy for little hands to insert and remove from the console. All of the games available are based around children’s favorite characters, such as Dora the Explorer and Scooby Doo. The games follow an educational theme and usually have several simple games / sub games on the cartridge, such as counting, spelling and sorting shapes and patterns.

The games are fairly simple, and so perfect for little people to use, however the graphics themselves are rubbish by today’s or the standards of 10 years ago, so rest assured you will not be tempted to chop in your beloved PS3 in for one.

My kids love this console, and it is useful way to get them to learn something and keep them occupied during the bad weather we have been having.

I think the console is a great idea and I would recommend it for someone with younger kids, however I can not give it 5 out of 5 as the graphics are just so poor.
