The Meningitis Trust cannot fight this disease alone. As well as spread awareness of the disease, the Trust needs people to raise vital funds to allow it to continue its work.

Walk in the Park is an annual series of walks that takes place all over the UK, every September. From Belfast to Suffolk, this year people will be donning their boots for a stroll out in the park to raise funds for the Trust. Very pleased you have put something on about this. I recall my partner getting it which was a nightmare at the time. Kids can get it so definately worth get up to speed on it. Do you know how to spot it. I didn't and she almost died. Not an exaggeration. Thanks. A few more article son some illnesses like this would be useful.

Anything that helps raise awareness of things like this is so important, my 6 year old son was very ill with group B strep Meningitis when he was 2 weeks old and spent 2 very scary weeks in hospital recovering from it. Luckily for us he made a full recovery which is very rare from an illness such as this.
Like learner said it is definitely worth getting up to speed on ALL the symptoms and how to spot it, my son didnt get the classic symptom which is the rash and that was why neither the doctor or my wife and I spotted it straight away. We were lucky but it could have easily gone the other way.
